St Nicholas Hospital

This has involved a large number of different systems, which have had to be integrated to suit the Trusts needs. Working with Emcor engineering ABCA have designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the following:
An Intruder alarm system utilizing shock detectors to tell staff if patients are attempting to escape through windows.
Four induction loop systems, including one desk induction loop
A CCTV system including a monitoring interview room with audio and video. ABCA utilized phantom powered microphone and digital Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras to accomplish what the Trust required.
A SMATV system was installed, incorporating fifty-five outlets in total, which allowed residents to have a hotel-style television system.
Two disabled toilet alarms were fitted complete with pull cord, reset button and over-door light and sounders
An audio/video intercom/door access system has been commissioned to allow a central member of staff to control access/egress to each door. The system has also incorporated a number of airlocks, and includes a number of different door to be monitored.
A Background music system was installed to allows music to be played in the multi cultural room.
An asset management system to control and record the usage of keys, radios, pagers etc. This has been integrated with a biometric reader for extra security and an audible exit alarm to allow the Trust to know if someone leaves with a item they are not permitted to.
This project showed the skill and knowledge of ABCA’s staff and the cohesion of their different divisions. According to Kevin Bennett from Emcor Engineering, ABCA are “first class at providing, and integrating specialist electrical systems.
